When asked about “dream office tools,” 25% of professionals wish they had a clone/assistant, 25% want natural sunlight, 22% would like a quiet place where naps are allowed and 19% wish they had a mute button for their coworkers.
...and with all the recent news that business cards are dying a slow but sure death, LinkedIn thought it would be interesting to find out what other office staples are going the way of the dinosaur. A recent survey of over 7,000 professionals globally reveals which office tools and trends are most likely to bite the dust next:
1. Tape recorders (79%)
2. Fax machines (71%)
3. The Rolodex (58%)
4. Standard working hours (57%)
5. Desk phones (35%)
6. Desktop computers (34%)
7. Formal business attire like suits, ties, pantyhose, etc. (27%)
8. The corner office for managers/executives (21%)
9. Cubicles (19%)
10. USB thumb drives (17%)
